Job Purpose
The Head of HR provides strategic leadership and comprehensive oversight of the Human Resource Department to align people strategies with business goals, drive organizational performance, and cultivate a high-engagement culture. This role oversees three core structural pillars: HR Operations (Compensation & Benefits, HR Business Partnering and Talent Acquisition, and Talent Management & Development / HR Projects.
The position ensures absolute regulatory compliance with the Insurance Business Regulatory Board (IBRB) and labor laws while pioneering HR digitalization, talent pipelines, and robust performance management systems to support the growth of KBZMS
Job Description
Strategic HR Leadership & Organization Planning
- Develop and execute an overarching HR roadmap that directly supports corporate business objectives and organizational transformations.
- Oversee the management HR team members across Operations, HRBP and Talent Acquisition, and Talent Management & Development wings.
- Direct manpower optimization strategies, headcount planning, and job description (JD) ownership protocols across all company units.
HR Operations, Compensation & Benefits Management
- Provide leadership over end-to-end Talent Acquisition, onboarding frameworks, and modern employer branding strategies.
- Supervise accurate payroll administration, taxation, Social Security Board (SSB) protocols, employment contracts (EC), and comprehensive employee benefits program events.
Ensure the precise maintenance of the comprehensive employees database, personnel files, and the ongoing enhancement of HRIS systems.
Talent Management, Development & HR Projects (including PMS & KPI Management)
- Drive corporate training frameworks, ensuring compliance in onboarding pipelines alongside specialized insurance curricula (FIT, BIPT) and soft skills tracks.
- Spearhead modern performance management frameworks by deploying Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and establishing clear evaluation mechanisms through digital tools.
- Lead the strategic rollout, implementation, and long-term management of the digital PMS software across the organization to host corporate, departmental, and individual KPIs.
- Conduct continuous data audits within the system to ensure performance ratings, self-assessments, and line manager evaluations are processed accurately and on time.
- Champion impactful HR projects, including organizational digitalization initiatives, LinkedIn Learning rollouts, succession planning, and Talent Management Programs (TEP, Talent Factory, JR).
- Oversee the design, evaluation, and structural governance of the Team Challenge – Quarterly Bonus framework to drive high performance across business units.
HR Business Partnering & Employee Relations
- Guide the HRBP team in acting as strategic consultants to business units for smooth policy implementation and team optimization.
- Oversee comprehensive employee engagement events, activities, conflict resolution frameworks, and formal case handlings.
- Manage structurally aligned salary review processes alongside fair, dignified off-boarding ownership systems.
Compliance, Governance & Audit Readiness
- Enforce absolute compliance with national labor laws, internal company policies, and statutory regulations.
- Manage critical IBRB compliance mandates and ensure departmental audit readiness for all internal and external reviews.
- Forecast, build, and strictly monitor the corporate HR operational and training budgets.
Job Requirements
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in human resource management, Business Administration, Law, Finance, or a related discipline from a recognized university.
- Professional HR Certification (e.g., SHRM-SCP, SPHRi, CHRP, or an Advanced Diploma in HR Management) is highly preferred.
- Master’s degree in business administration (MBA), Human Resource Development, or Organizational Development is a distinct advantage.
Experience:
- Minimum 7 to 10 years of progressive, well-rounded experience in Human Resource Management, with a proven track record in General Insurance or the broader Financial Services sector.
- Minimum 5 years in a senior leadership role or as a department head managing multi-pillar HR teams (Operations, HRBPs, Talent Management & Development and HR Projects).
- Demonstrated experience leading large-scale corporate changes, digital HR transformations, and the successful rollout of Performance Management System (PMS) software.
- Extensive experience designing and managing corporate grading architectures, KPI frameworks, salary reviews, and incentive schemes like quarterly team bonuses.
- Solid experience in strategic workforce planning, headcount optimization, and building robust internal succession pipelines.
