Environmental Responsibility
Our environmental initiatives are driven by a commitment to reducing our ecological footprint and promoting long-term sustainability. We prioritize energy-saving technologies, such as designing office spaces to maximize natural light and investing in cutting-edge, energy-efficient solutions. Our efforts include installing wind turbines at select branches to reduce reliance on traditional power sources and minimize our carbon footprint. We also champion paper reduction through digital solutions and stringent paper usage policies, further supporting our goal of creating a more sustainable office environment.
Social Impact
KBZMS’s social impact initiatives are a testament to our core values and mission to enhance the quality of life in Myanmar. We fulfill this mission through active community engagement & support, fostering diversity and inclusion within the workplace, supporting employee well-being, and providing insurance literacy education programs for our customers.
Community Engagement & Support
Our significant contributions include donating 85 Huawei tablets to the Myanmar Health Assistant Association, which has greatly enhanced the medical treatment reporting system and improved patient care.
Volunteering Programs
Our employees actively engage in nationwide volunteering initiatives, including annual blood donation drives and efforts to provide oxygen concentrators to hospitals, all aimed at supporting and enhancing public health
Gender Equality and Diversity
Our commitment to gender equality and diversity is evident through our active partnership with the Business Coalition on Gender Equality (BCGE), where we play a leading role. We champion gender equality through initiatives such as on-campus breastfeeding facilities, sexual harassment awareness workshops, International Women’s Day campaigns, and inclusive policies, including anti-discrimination measures. Our dedication to diversity is also reflected in our leadership, with women making up 40% of our board and 50% of our executive management team, highlighting our commitment to inclusive leadership and equal opportunities.
Employee Well-being
Employee well-being is a cornerstone of our approach, supported by a variety of wellness programs aimed at both mental and physical health. Our offerings include counseling services, fitness clubs, and COVID-19 support measures. We prioritize work-life balance with generous parental leave policies to assist employees during significant life events.
Last year, we hosted a psychosocial support webinar in October 2023, and in May 2024, we held a clay art therapy session for World Mental Health Awareness Day. Looking ahead, we will continue to enhance our well-being initiatives with activities such as Yoga, Zumba, KBZMS sports clubs, and more, all designed to support the physical and mental health of our employees.
