Building resilient communities requires more than responding to disasters. It requires investing in preparedness, empowering people with knowledge, and turning that knowledge into collective action.
Following the March 2025 earthquake, KBZMS supported recovery through our Mandalay Phoenix initiatives. We continued that commitment through Disaster Resilience Seminars across Shan State, Mandalay, and Yangon, reaching over 3,000 people with knowledge to better understand and reduce disaster risks.
In October, we brought this commitment directly into the community.
In observance of the International Day for Disaster Risk Reduction, 50 KBZMS employee volunteers, led by our CEO U Sai Lu Mon Aung, worked alongside FIN Myanmar, the Early Childhood School Management Committee, and the Community Resource Center on drainage rehabilitation and ditch filling activities in Nat Sin Kone Village, Thanlyin Township, on 12 October.
These efforts aim to reduce flooding risks and improve living conditions for over 2,500 families and approximately 12,500 community members.
Our teams in Pathein and Hinthada also participated in local environmental improvement initiatives, extending our commitment to communities beyond Yangon.
This is what Beyond Insurance represents for KBZMS. Not simply providing protection when disasters occur, but working with communities to reduce vulnerabilities, strengthen preparedness, and create lasting impact.
Because true resilience is not built in a day. It is built through the actions we take together, long before the next disaster strikes.
Resilience Starts at Home. Together, We Make It Stronger.
