In response to the devastating 7.7 magnitude earthquake that struck on March 28th, 2025, the KBZ Foundation swiftly launched emergency relief operations to support severely affected communities.Under the leadership of Chairman Emeritus U Aung Ko Win, the KBZ Foundation team immediately mobilized and delivered critical assistance to disaster-stricken areas.

 

Relief efforts led by Chairman Emeritus U Aung Ko Win included:

 

  • At around 2:00 PM on March 28th, the team arrived in Taunggyi and directly participated in rescue and relief operations near the Thit Taw Yad car parking area, where falling rocks from the mountains had severely damaged homes and shops. The team also provided financial aid of MMK 500,000 each to injured individuals, as well as support to doctors, healthcare workers, and pregnant women at Shwe Nyaung Township Hospital.
  • A donation of MMK 10 million, along with 200 meal sets and a complete set of emergency supplies, was delivered to the rescue team stationed at Aung Pan Hotel in Aung Pan City to support ongoing relief efforts in a timely and effective manner.
  • At approximately 7:00 PM, rescue teams successfully saved a woman trapped under the collapsed structure of Aung Pan Hotel. Chairman Emeritus U Aung Ko Win personally visited the site to oversee and support the ongoing rescue operations.

 

Continuing the mission, on the morning of March 29th, the KBZ Foundation team, again led by Chairman Emeritus U Aung Ko Win, proceeded to the Inlay region to carry on with swift and effective emergency relief and humanitarian support.
