On October 10, 2024, Kalaw and Naung Shwe townships experienced severe flooding due to continuous heavy rainfall and water from nearby mountains, leading to widespread inundation in urban and surrounding areas. The flood caused damage to homes and created a scarcity of clean drinking water.
To support recovery efforts, KBZMS donated three water purification machines to provide safe drinking water to those affected by the flood. Each machine, valued at 25,000,000 MMK, with a total donation value of 75,000,000 MMK, has the capacity to produce 1,000 liters of purified water per hour. The machines were donated as follows:
- October 29, 2024: One unit delivered to Dhammacakka Monastery in Kalaw Township.
- November 2, 2024: One unit delivered to Kan Oo Monastery in Bawsine, Kalaw Township.
- November 3, 2024: One unit delivered to Taw Paw Monastery in Paung Pine Village, Naung Shwe Township.
KBZMS made these donations with strong cetana and saddhata to support communities in need, ensuring that monks and local residents have easy access to clean drinking water.
