Key Account Manager

Job Purpose

To drive profitable and sustainable growth of the General Insurance business through a strategic bank partner, acting as the primary interface between the insurer and the bank. The role ensures achievement of sales, service, and relationship objectives, aligns strategies to maximize product distribution, and enhances customer value.

Job Description

1.Partnership & Relationship Management

  •  Serve as the single point of contact for key bank stakeholders (Branch Managers, Regional Heads, Product Teams).
  •  Develop, present, and execute a one-year Bancassurance Account Plan with the bank, focusing on sales projections, marketing activities, and channel development.
  •  Proactively identify and resolve operational, technical, or customer service issues to maintain a healthy partnership
  • Lead monthly/quarterly business review meetings with bank management to review performance, market insights, and agree on corrective actions.

2. Sales & Business Development 

  • Own and achieve sales targets for all General Insurance products across assigned branches/regions.
  •  Support and enable the bank’s sales force (Tellers, Relationship Managers) to promote products, cross-sell, and upsell. 
  • Implement and monitor lead generation initiatives, including data mining, counter referrals, and joint campaigns.

3. Training, Support & Compliance

  • Design and deliver product and sales training to bank staff to enhance knowledge, selling skills, and product positioning.
  • Ensure all sales processes and documentation comply with regulatory and internal policies. 
  • Coordinate with Marketing to develop targeted campaigns and promotional materials for the bank channel.

4. Strategic Review & Planning 

  • Analyze monthly performance, identify top/bottom performing branches or products, and refine 90-day action plans with branch-specific targets.

5. Stakeholder Engagement & Field Support 

  • Conduct formal/informal meetings with bank Regional/Branch Managers to discuss performance, challenges, and support needs.
  • Conduct joint branch visits with managers to coach, observe sales pitches, and motivate staff.

6. Campaign & Operational Management

  • Launch and track joint marketing/sales campaigns; provide collateral and monitor lead conversion.
  • Serve as escalation point for complex claims, underwriting queries, or process bottlenecks; document and track resolutions.

7. Performance & Compliance Reporting

  • Compile detailed reports on sales performance (NBP, BAR, Retention Rate) and compliance adherence for internal and bank management.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum: Bachelor’s degree + relevant experience
  •  Preferred: MBA or Master’s + leadership experience + certifications
  •  3–5 years in bancassurance, insurance, or financial services 
  • 2–3 years in team leadership or multi-branch management 
  • Proven track record in achieving sales targets and managing bank relationships
