Key Account Manager

Job Purpose

The purpose of this role is to strategically manage and optimize channel operations, ensuring alignment with business objectives through effective communication, resource management, and operational oversight. This position is crucial for driving growth and success in various channels, including bancassurance, by fostering strong relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders. The role involves defining clear goals, deploying necessary resources, managing project scopes, and delivering comprehensive reports and presentations to key stakeholders. Ultimately, the role aims to achieve seamless project execution from conception to completion, while continuously enhancing team performance and business relationships.

Job Description

Bancassurance Management

  • Manages relationships with partnered banks and is responsible for implementing projects from conception to completion on time and within budget.
  • Coordinates with bank representatives to ensure alignment of goals and objectives and to foster a collaborative partnership.
  • Develops strategic plans specific to bancassurance, including market analysis, competitive analysis, and identifying growth opportunities.
  • Oversees the deployment of bancassurance products, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
  • Monitors the performance of bancassurance projects, providing regular updates and performance metrics to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Identifies and mitigates risks associated with bancassurance projects, developing contingency plans as necessary.
  • Facilitates training and development programs for bank staff to enhance product knowledge and sales capabilities.
  • Conducts regular reviews of bancassurance initiatives to ensure they meet predefined objectives and deliverables.
  • Establishes and nurtures key business relationships within the banking sector to drive the success of bancassurance initiatives.

Strategy & Planning

  • Defines goals and deliverables that support business objectives in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.
  • Acquisition & Deployment Effectively communicates with internal team members and external stakeholders in a timely and clear communication ways.
  • Determines the content of status reports, analyzes results, and troubleshoots problem areas.

Acquisition & Deployment

  • Estimates the resources and participants needed to achieve the channel goals. Where required, negotiate with other department managers for the acquisition of required personnel from within the company.
  • Determines and assesses the need for additional staff and/or consultants and makes the appropriate recruitments if necessary.

Operational Management

  • Cooperates with internal and external stakeholders to identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the respective team and manages channel dependencies and critical paths.
  • Delegates tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel.
  • Develops and delivers progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations.
  • Proactively manages changes in project scope, identifying potential crises and devising contingency plans.
  • Coaches, mentors, motivates, and supervises team members, influencing them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work.
  • Builds, develops, and grows any business relationships vital to the success of the channel.
  • Schedules meetings, prepares agendas, and ensures meeting minutes are prepared.
  • Develops and delivers presentations to key stakeholders summarizing objectives, deliverables, status, and metrics.
  • Tracks performance against targets monthly and identifies potential risk to the target.
