Head of Bancassurance

Job Purpose

The Head of Bancassurance will oversee and manage the strategic and operational aspects of KBZMS General Insurance’s bancassurance channel. This leadership role involves building strong relationships with bank partners, addressing operational challenges, driving sales performance, and exploring new sales channels to maximize growth. The ideal candidate will bring strategic insight, operational excellence, and a passion for leading high-performing teams to achieve organizational objectives.

Job Description

  1. Account Management
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for bank partners, overseeing all matters related to the execution of bancassurance partnerships.
    • Proactively identify operational or sales issues, collaborate with internal stakeholders, and implement effective remediation plans.
    • Provide regular sales and productivity reports to bank partners.
    • Diversify the sales mix beyond fire insurance referrals by developing innovative strategies.
    • Drive sales growth through alternative channels such as telemarketing and online platforms.
    • Monitor sales performance against business plans and recommend actionable measures to address potential gaps.
    • Collaborate with the bancassurance sales team to design and implement targeted sales and marketing campaigns.
    • Contribute to the design of incentive schemes for both bank staff and KBZMS bancassurance sales teams.
    • Work closely with bank partners to create a product roadmap for various sub-sales channels.
    • Represent KBZMS in weekly working committee meetings with bank partners.
    • Develop and oversee training programs for both bank and KBZMS bancassurance sales staff.
    Coordination with Bancassurance Department
    • Partner with Bancassurance Insurance Specialists’ management to align sales representation with bank needs and opportunities.
    • Collaborate with project managers to ensure efficient and timely management of bancassurance partnerships.
    • Work with the bancassurance fire referral team to address and resolve operational issues promptly.
    Coordination with the Distribution Department
    • Liaise with Distribution Support and Training teams to ensure timely and accurate execution of commission calculations and payments.
    • Work with the KBZMS Training Academy to identify and meet training requirements for bank partnerships.
    Coordination with KBZMS Internal Departments
    • Collaborate with Survey, Underwriting, and Claims teams to resolve operational challenges effectively and efficiently.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing or a related field
  • Minimum of 8 years experience in key account management, bancassurance or a related field
  • Exceptional analytical and conceptual-thinking skills
  • The ability to influence stakeholders and work closely with them to determine acceptable solutions
  • Excellent technical and communication skill
  • Experience creating detailed reports and giving presentations
  • Competency using Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent planning, organizational, and time management skills
