Job Purpose

The role involves developing and executing strategic plans to optimize the bancassurance channel for distributing general insurance products. It requires setting sales targets, identifying growth opportunities, and collaborating with banking partners to align goals and manage agreements. The position works closely with product development to tailor offerings for the bancassurance market while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. Key responsibilities include driving sales performance, training bank staff, analyzing KPIs for continuous improvement, and coordinating with marketing and customer service teams to enhance customer satisfaction. Budget management and risk mitigation are also essential components of this role.

Job Description

  • Develop and implement strategic plans to maximize the bancassurance channel’s effectiveness in distributing general insurance products. This includes setting goals, defining targets, and identifying growth opportunities.
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with banking partners to ensure collaboration and alignment of goals. Negotiate and manage agreements between the insurance company and banking institutions.
    • Work closely with product development teams to create insurance products tailored for bancassurance distribution. Ensure that products meet regulatory requirements and market demand.
    • Drive sales initiatives to achieve revenue targets through the bancassurance channel. Implement effective distribution strategies, monitor sales performance, and analyze market trends to identify opportunities.
    • Provide training and support to bank staff to enhance their knowledge of insurance products and sales techniques. Ensure that the banking team is well-equipped to promote and sell insurance products to customers.
    • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies. Manage and mitigate risks associated with bancassurance operations, including legal and regulatory risks.
    • Regularly analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the effectiveness of the bancassurance channel. Use data-driven insights to make informed decisions and drive continuous improvement.
    • Collaborate with the marketing and customer service teams to enhance customer experience and satisfaction. Address customer feedback and resolve issues to maintain positive relationships.
    • Develop and manage budgets related to bancassurance activities. Monitor expenses and allocate resources effectively to achieve financial targets.

Job Requirements

  • • A bachelor’s degree in business, finance, insurance, marketing, or a related field is required. Candidates with a master’s degree are preferred.
    • Proven track record of success in sales, distribution, and/or business development within the insurance sector.
    • Several years of managerial or leadership experience, preferably in roles involving strategy development and execution
    • Strong leadership and management skills to effectively oversee and guide the bancassurance team.
    • Analytical and strategic thinking skills to develop effective plans and make informed decisions.
    • In-depth knowledge of insurance products, regulations, and market trends.
    • Sales and marketing acumen to drive revenue growth through the bancassurance channel.
    • Ability to navigate and manage complex agreements and contracts.
