Head of Sales (Lower Myanmar)

Job Purpose

To drive business growth by leading the sales team, achieving targets, expanding market presence, and ensuring strong collaboration with partners while maintaining high performance and ethical standards.

Job Description

  • To agree and implement business plans with the Account Managers.
  • To manage sales, and business objectives of the business, meeting or exceeding key targets.
  • To ensure achievement of sales targets, optimal market coverage, realise any market segment objectives, and ensure optimal market penetration in any specified segments.
  • To ensure effective resource allocation, and financial viability of the business.
  • To effectively lead and manage the Sales Management Team and BIS providing them with ongoing coaching and development to enable them to better manage their sales teams.
  • To ensure that the sales behaviour, sales ethics, and sales practices of the salesforce comply to Company standards and regulations.
  • To identify development opportunities within the country and make strategic recommendations to the Deputy Chief Distribution Office.
  • Regularly meet with counterparts from the bank to discuss performance issues, sales improvements, and to ensure that the two business streams are fully integrated and compatible, and that the salesforce is trusted, respected, and valued by branch colleagues.
  • Support Regional Sales Managers in their work by one-on-one coaching in management techniques.
  • Build and maintain the motivation of the sales team by providing support, giving recognition to all Managers and Insurance Specialists who perform well, periodically attending appropriate team-building activities.
  • Arrange for the recruitment of appropriately qualified Sales Managers ( ABMs,SCMs,CMs). Carry out final selection activities personally, where appropriate, as determined by the grade of the vacancy being filled.
  • Conduct performance review meetings monthly with direct reports to review performance, disseminate Company information, address common problems and individual concerns, encourage two-way communication, and rally the team to achieve goals. Conduct similar meetings, quarterly, with entire regional sales force.
  • Upper and Lower Myanmar Heads jointly create quarterly staff appraisals and conduct them in line with Company procedure, to review the individual’s performance against targets, establish future targets, and identify training and development needs.
  • Ensure that direct reports schedule appropriate technical, product, and skills training necessary for the team or individuals, as identified through the appraisal process or otherwise.
  • Ensure that the Head of Training commissions a training effectiveness review at least twice a year. Meet with him/her to discuss findings and plan actions.

    Sales Leadership, Strategic Thinking, Business Acumen, Relationship Building, Sales Management, Exceptional Verbal and Written communication Skills, Analytical Skills, Problem-Solving, Result-Orientation, Team Work, Negotiation Skills

    Sales Process Management: Proficiency in designing and implementing effective sales processes, including lead generation, prospecting, sales funnel management, and closing deals.

    Technology Proficiency: Familiarity with sales enablement tools, customer relationship management (CRM) systems, and other relevant sales technologies to enhance sales effectiveness and efficiency. Advanced Excel.

    Experience Requirement: Mid-level Management with 3-5 years in Sales.
