Risk Analyst
Job Purpose
The purpose of this role is to perform the risk management process, which involves identifying, assessing, controlling and monitoring risks to ensure compliance with policies and to ensure overall risk awareness and control effectiveness.
Job Description
- Identify and assess potential risks that may impact business operations and objectives.
- Monitor Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) and Key Control Indicators (KCIs) to track risk exposure and control performance.
- Prepare and submit monthly and quarterly risk management reports on time.
- Coordinate with respective departments to collect and analyze root cause information for incidents and control gaps.
- Conduct regular risk assessments and evaluate the effectiveness of existing controls.
- Maintain and update the risk register, incident reports, and risk heatmap.
- Support the development and implementation of risk mitigation plans.
- Promote risk awareness and strengthen internal control culture across departments.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Perform other relevant tasks assigned by supervisor.
Job Requirements
- University degree in a business-related field or its equivalent and/or MBA/MI is preferred.
- At least 2 or 3 years of experience in Risk Management and Internal Control Functions within Financial Services Industry.
- Familiarity with general insurance products, insurance laws and regulations is a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency skills in Microsoft 365 Office Suites especially Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI etc.
- Strong teamwork, multitasking, and time management skills.
- Able to work under pressure.
